I’ve spent most of my professional life, over 35 years, helping people understand the importance of insurance. It’s a unique kind of promise: one you put in place before you ever need it. That’s what makes it powerful, but also what makes it hard for many to appreciate. When life is good and the skies are clear, it’s easy to believe the calm will last forever.
As I write this, the Caribbean braces for Hurricane Melissa, a storm that, from all reports, could bring serious devastation. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in its path. I sincerely hope that Jamaica will be spared the worst, and that those who are affected will find comfort and support, both emotionally and financially, as they recover.
Moments like these remind me why preparation matters so deeply. Insurance isn’t about fear; it’s about love and responsibility, for our families, our homes, and our communities. It’s a way of saying, “I’ve thought ahead. I care enough to protect what matters.”
When I look back over my years in this profession, I see that the real value of insurance isn’t just in the policy contracts, it’s in the peace of mind they bring, and the resilience they help build.
To everyone reading this: stay safe, stay watchful, and take comfort in knowing that foresight and faith go hand in hand. Storms will come, but preparation allows us to stand firm, rebuild, and move forward with hope.
